Upcycling: From Remnants to a Unique Home Accessory

The season is almost over! In the meantime, we have completed a great project. We have given new life to our production leftovers, including fabric remnants and discarded parts that were damaged beyond repair. Additionally, we upcycled and refurbished a frame.

The chair was reupholstered, and the remnants were transformed into a uniform surface, carefully pieced together, glued, and sewn. The upholsterer successfully completed the chair – even incorporating a leftover logo. The materials used for this project include faux leather remnants from our Autumn/Winter collection, giving these high-quality leftovers a second life.

It is unfortunate that production waste is often barely or not at all recycled. The processes are expensive and complex. Our suppliers, for example, recycle discarded polyester very well. However, faux leather presents more challenges since it consists of a base material with a coating. At the same time, we highly appreciate the diversity and development of new fabrics and leather alternatives. Not using them is not an option for us, as they are essential for the innovation and evolution of our designs. For us, sustainability is not just about renunciation but about making conscious material choices that combine aesthetics, functionality, and durability.

We will continue to support and implement such projects. With our "Waste to Art" initiatives, we actively aim to reduce production waste. In this case, we even created a functional one-of-a-kind piece!

We are grateful that our suppliers also take responsibility and support us in this cause. We look forward to more projects like this, as they are part of our vision to become ever more sustainable!
