WAXED JACKET CARE GUIDE
Wax jackets are special companions that can stay in good condition for many years with the right care. Rather than frequent washing, they need gentle handling. Over time, the material develops a unique surface, subtle signs of wear and a patina that give each jacket its own character.
It is important not to wash waxed jackets in the washing machine or have them dry-cleaned, as this can damage the waxed surface and reduce its protective qualities. For everyday cleaning, dirt can simply be removed with a damp cloth or a soft brush, using only cold water and no detergent.
After cleaning, the jacket should be left to air dry naturally. Direct heat from radiators or tumble dryers should be avoided, as it can affect the material and the wax coating.
With time, some areas may become drier or duller, especially on sleeves, shoulders or edges. This is normal. In these cases, the jacket can be re-waxed with a special wax to refresh the surface and restore its water-repellent finish.
A waxed jacket is not a piece for just one season, but one that can be worn and cared for over many years. Proper storage also matters: it is best kept on a wide hanger in a dry, well-ventilated place, without plastic covers.
We believe wax jackets become even more beautiful with wear. Their changing surface tells a story of everyday life and time. Good care not only preserves their quality and character, but also supports a more conscious and responsible approach to clothing.
